Festively decorated Christmas stalls illuminated by glittering lights can only mean one thing: it’s time for Aschaffenburg’s Christmas market, which opens every year on the Thursday before the first Advent Sunday.
The aromas of glühwein, roasted almonds, potato fritters and bratwurst fill the air, adding a touch of magic to a stroll in front of the picturesque palace. On Schlossplatz square, a life-size Nativity scene in the Franconian style and Christmas pyramids set the scene.
