Aschaffenburg’s outdoor pool is located right by the Main river, where the many large trees create plenty of shaded spots across the extensive lawns. The outdoor pool is open from May to September, while the indoor pool and sauna area next door offer fun and relaxation from September to April.

At the heart of historical Schönbusch Park lies an idyllic lake where you can go rowing when the weather is nice. Rowing boats can be hired for €5 for 30 minutes (family rates available).
From the Arche Noah boathouse at Flosshafen, you can explore a branch of the Main river in a pedalo.
Jump on board the Primus riverboat in Frankfurt, Offenbach, Hanau or Seligenstadt and prepare for a leisurely cruise on the Main river. After several stops where you can get on and off, you will reach Aschaffenburg at around 2pm. Before you disembark, there is ample opportunity to admire the Pompeiianum and the magnificent Johannisburg Palace from the river. From here, you can also see the Palace Park and its mediterranean planting, which you can get a closer look at on a walk. Also just a stroll away is the old quarter, where cosy little cafés and restaurants provide the ideal opportunity to while away the hours.
The boat embarks for the return journey at 3.50pm, or you can head back on the train instead.
